International
Marketing Services (IMS), the authorised distributor of Samsung mobile devices,
has launched the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S5. IMS also unveiled Samsung Gear
2, Gear 2 neo, and Gear Fit with improved design and added features.
The
Galaxy S5 was made public simultaneously across 150 countries, including Nepal,
on Friday. The much-awaited smartphone of 2014 has been priced at Rs 76,000,
while the Gear 2 comes at Rs 35,000, and Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit have been
priced at Rs 23,000.
Those
who purchase the Gear 2 along with the Galaxy S5 within April-end will be
provided a flat discount of Rs 3,000, the company announced, adding over 350
devices have been booked so far.
Addressing
the launch programme, IMS President Dikesh Malhotra said the event was part of
Samsung ’s mission to improve the human life. “The S5 is designed to improve
the daily lives of consumers by delivering what they desire the most. The
smartphone is stylish, supports a

with features of a DSLR, is water and dust resistant and fast on connectivity,”
said Malhotra.
The
Galaxy S5 combines an advanced camera, fast network connectivity, dedicated
fitness tools and enhanced device protection features. It has superior camera
functionality, with an intelligence and output of a DSLR. Galaxy S5 features a
16MP camera with the “world’s fastest” auto-focus speeds up to 0.3 seconds.
The
smartphone supports fifth generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 2X2 MIMO. For consumers
seeking even faster connection, the Galaxy S5 now features Download Booster, an
innovative Wi-Fi technology for boosting data speed.
The
device comes in handy for health conscious customers too. With enhanced S
Health 3.0, the Galaxy S5 offers more tools to help people stay fit and well.
It provides a personal fitness tracker to help users monitor and manage their
behaviour, along with additional tools including a pedometer, diet and exercise
records, and a new, built-in heart rate monitor.

IMS
has said Galaxy S5 consumers would receive a pre-activated NTC SIM with 5GB
Data, which can either be used in Samsung Galaxy S5 or any existing Samsung
devices. Moreover, the Galaxy S5 will be available through a 15-month EMI from
Laxmi Bank and NMB Bank, 18-month EMI from Global IME Bank and 9-month EMI from
Nabil Bank.
