UNICEF Nepal representative Hanaa Singer said that the singer's popularity and status as a dignified personality will aid in sending the message that children's welfare is of high priority.

Dolma too promised to use her celebrity and experience to bring the issues of children to the forefront. "I will use my songs to improve the situation of children nationwide," said Dolma, who also runs a school for nuns.

After being anointed the national ambassadors, the singer joins the ranks of English footballer David Beckham, Indian actor Amitabh Bachhan, Chinese actor Jackie Chan, Colombian pop singer Shakira, as the UNICEF ambassadors in their respective countries.
